I requested a refund.. Played the game and unlocked all the endings. Game is pretty intersting to play. Some people complained about translation issues, but it seems to be fixed on the current version I've played. The story doesn't seem much if you don't poke around and find diferent endings, but it's rewarding once you find a new game path. Worth trying since the game is dirt cheap.Also, it is not required, but play Confess My Love for backstory and a way to unlock a hidden achievement.. This is a weird one to recommend. It’s basically a short little puzzle adventure game about a bullied girl stuck in a classroom with other kids who emotionally abuse her. There’s not a lot to it, you just run around checking items and talk to everybody until you discover one of the endings and then you’re supposed to do it all over again to find the other endings. In fact, there are items you can find on your first playthrough that are of no use to you, since the items you need to find to make use of them are only to be found on later playthroughs, so it’s cool that the game doesn’t take an eternity to beat and try again for a different path. Unfortunately, the events that play out are about 90% the same each time and you can’t skip dialogues entirely, so you’ll be stuck in these sections way longer than you want to be.This is exacerbated by the fact that the translation is visibly spotty, with idioms that don’t make a lick of sense in English, so you’ll have to intuit what the writer wanted to communicate to the player at times. The actual adventure-game part of this game is also a bit of a chore, since collecting items means that you have to repeatedly interact with all the elements on screen. For example, if there’s something inside a desk, you can’t simply pick it up the first time you examine the desk. It only works on the second attempt. And also only if you look at the desk from the correct angle, for some reason. It’s an unnecessary amount of obfuscation to make it harder for the player to find something. While I enjoyed myself overall, I cannot in good conscience recommend this game to others. It’s fairly insubstantial and the lackluster translation ends up hurting the bleak tone of the narrative.. Transparent Black tells the continuation of the free game Confess My Love. Despite the broken English and issues the game may have, the story and its theme is much more interesting than I would have thought at first glance. This is especially true if you've played its predecessor.And the DLC... let's just say it was really depressing.If you're itching for a great narrative experience with good aesthetic to match, try completing Confess My Love, then Transparent Black in an afternoon.. Definitely not a game for kids or people with depression. It's a pretty short, but dark game. Play it with a healty mindset :). Answered my question of how Liza would react after the events of "Confess my Love".. Yawn, not sure if it was worth the 64 cents I paid for it. Their first game Confess My Love, available for free, was simply way more interesting. I would have happily paid for that.. I would give a neutral review if I could. The writing of this game is attempting far too hard to be dark, it just comes off as edgy, which is a shame, as their previous game had pretty decent writing. The translation is imperfect as well, with several typos. The nail in the coffin is just how short it is combined with how slow it feels, it just isn't very fun.. Transparent Black is a GEM of a short horror game. In fact I was shocked when I went back to see how much I had paid only to discover it is 0.99?! Such quality for so little is astounding. It is a short game, sure, but the art, the story, the spectacular and clever use of color schemes make this another great entry into my Steam Horror Games collection!
